You are in for a literary treat!
Downtown West Palm Beach has welcomed the first Short Story Dispenser© in the state of Florida.
Subculture Coffee – 509 Clematis Street
E.R. Bradley’s Saloon – 104 S. Clematis Street
The Short Story Dispenser was conceived and created by Short Édition, a nonprofit community publisher based in France.
The installation of the Dispenser is made possible by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District.
Short Édition launched in 2011 and was strictly a web platform for the community to submit and read stories. In 2015, Short Édition created the Dispenser, utilizing those stories that they had collected over the years. The Dispenser is now installed in 138 different locations across the world including the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and Guinea. In its birthplace of France, the Short Story Dispensers can be found in train stations, airports, malls, cafes, gas stations, and more. At the request of Francis Ford Coppola, renowned American film director, producer and screenwriter, his Zoetrope café made San Francisco the first U.S. city to receive a Short Story Dispenser.
West Palm Beach is the second U.S. city to install The Dispensers.
